Dr. Margherita has practiced in the area of sports medicine for nearly 30 years and has assisted all sorts of athletic patients, from weekend warriors to Olympic hopefuls to professionals in many different sports. He has been the Medical Director of the St. Louis Marathon since 1999 and directed the medical services for the 2004 Women’s Marathon Olympic Trials. He is a consultant with Major League Baseball and covered minor league hockey teams. He uses a functional biomechanics approach to working with the injured athlete and is experienced in all aspects of managing the injured athletic or active person.

I went to Dr. Margherita for knee pain a month before a planned camping trip. The office got me an appointment quickly. When I got there, everyone was friendly and professional. Dr. M is very thorough - he LISTENS and asks questions, then probes and manipulates to isolate the issue. I ended up with X-ray, MRI and ultrasound, as each imaging method gives you different info. My injured knee was completely fixed in time for lots of hiking. Couldn't be more pleased!
